Frequently Asked Questions

How can I book an appointment?

You can book online or you can call us on 07919166949

Does osteopathic treatment hurt?

Osteopathic treatment is generally not painful. However, some techniques, such as deep tissue work, may cause mild discomfort during the session. You can always let your practitioner know when it gets really uncomfortable. You may also experience some soreness post-treatment which may last between 24-48 hours but this is completely normal!

What should I wear to my appointments?

Depending on the area that needs to be examined and treated, you may be asked to undress partially, so we can access the affected region—such as the back, neck, or legs. This will help better examine, diagnose and treat your problem. Shorts and sports bras are fine.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions needed depends on your condition and treatment response. While some patients experience relief after just one or two sessions, some may need 4-6 and others more. Your osteopath will discuss a treatment plan with you based on your specific needs.

Do I need a referral from my GP to see an Osteopath?

No, you don’t need a referral to see an osteopath. You can book directly with an osteopathy clinic. However, some private health insurers may require a GP referral if you are planning to claim your treatment costs, so it's worth checking with your provider.

Can Osteopathy help with sports injuries?

Yes, osteopathy is highly effective in treating sports injuries such as strains, sprains, and tendonitis. It can help improve joint mobility, reduce inflammation, and promote faster healing. Osteopaths can also provide advice on injury prevention and help improve performance through better movement mechanics.

Can Osteopathy help with pregnancy pain?

Yes, osteopathic treatment during pregnancy can ease common discomforts like back pain, pelvic tension, and swelling by using gentle, hands-on techniques. It supports circulation, reduces stress, and helps your body adapt comfortably to each stage of pregnancy, providing safe relief for both you and your baby.
